Letter To My Daughter

I posted a picture of me and my daughter on Instagram the other day and began writing a caption about all the things I want for my daughter; then I remembered she can’t read yet. Instagram may not be around once she can read (see Myspace for example) so I decided to write it down on a piece of paper. God forbid anything happens to me, I want her to be able to see my handwriting and read all the things I see and want for her when she gets older. So here’s my letter to my daughter:

From the moment I was pregnant with you, I knew you would be a beautiful, loving, strong, feisty, ambitious, creative, outgoing, perfect mix of me and your dad; you have been exactly that since the day you were born. Some days I actually think I would be fine having you as my only child simply because you are perfect and everything I have ever wanted in a child. A lot of times daddy isn’t around and some times mommy isn’t around either but it’s only because we are working hard for you. Working hard to give you the things and experiences we didn’t grow up with. We work hard so that you can express your creativity freely and take just about any activity, class, project that you want. I want to always encourage you to be creative, make your own lane, and don’t fear what others will think. Your dad and I work hard so that you’re able to travel the world, explore and see first hand all the different cultures, religions, and people. I will do everything in my power for you to be able to grow up a well rounded, positive, ambitious, successful force of nature. When I look at you, I know that you will not only grow up to be beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well; your spirit aligning with your physical beauty. You won’t be distracted and easily impressed by little boys who mean you no good because your dad will set your standards of what you want in a man so high. I will always be honest about the mistakes I’ve made in hopes that you don’t make the same ones. You won’t have to seek a role model because I will be that. You will always have a friend, confidant, mentor, and support system in mommy. You are only 9 months and already smart (seriously, you are ahead of the curve), gorgeous, funny, feisty, and talented (you play the piano like Alicia Keys) and I know that you will only continue to exceed my expectations and be a better person than me and your dad ever could’ve been.
I love you.

    Dear Angel,

I’m so moved by this post. It’s a perfect example of the person you are: loving, caring and a great mother and friend. This letter to Aria is beautifu because I can feel the sincerity in each and every word. I know Aria is loved and will be loved by even her Tia Elva and familia Aldrete very very much. Congrats on your new endeavor and you already know, but I’ll always remind you, that I support you 100%. Love you!

    Xo,

    Elva Y Aldrete #EYAMANAGEMENT
